The FUMC youth has had a great start to the new school year! We have already had some exciting activities and have more to come. Shortly after school started the youth had a lock-in and the night was filled with fun games and the men of our church cooked a delicious breakfast for us. Not long after that the youth leadership had a retreat. During this retreat we had educational sessions where we grew closer to God.  We also brainstormed ideas and planned some fun activities for us to do such as “a get to know you night”.   Also, we are planning to do mission work and reach out more to our community. Refuge will be held November 6-8 at the Shepherd of the Ozarks in Harriet, Arkansas.  We are also participating at “trunk or treat” and are creating a haunted room for the event.

July 3, 2015–We love loud at GFUMC!  We have a wonderful group of kids who are learning to lead by example for Christ.  We recently had 2 of our youth join the Arkansas Conference Choir Tour where they were able to travel around Arkansas leading worship in several churches.  They did a great job!  We are working through a study called Journey to Awareness:  An Experience in Poverty this Summer on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM.  We are also getting ready to attend Jr. High and Sr. High Assembly at Hendrix College on July 25-29.
