Our Vision: to create an environment where children and their parents are loved, introduced to Christ, steeped in the Word, mentored in their walk with God, prepared for life in the body of Christ, and given the opportunity to honor God with their worship and service.

There are three weekly opportunities for our children to grow in their faith and thus three opportunities each week for volunteers to help make Christ known to our kids. From teaching to leading to serving behind the scenes, if you have a heart for children, we have a place for you to serve.

Sunday Mornings at Greenbrier FUMC

Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. – 2019-2020

This year during the Sunday School hour, we will be utilizing The Believe children’s books and curricula which are based on the book, Believe by Randy Frazee which many of our adult classes will be studying this year. This curriculum includes 30 lessons based on 30 core beliefs outlined in the Believe book. The 30 lessons are divided into three sections of ten lessons each. The first section, Think, encourages children to learn to think like Jesus. The second section, Act, teaches children how to fulfill the mission to love God and to love their neighbor better. The last section, Be, will help to instill in children the ten key virtues God desires to see developed in their lives. For more information you can visit the Believe website at www.believethestory.com

Children’s Church at 11:00 a.m.  Worship Service

The other Sunday morning ministry time for our children to learn and for adults to serve is Children’s Church during the 11:00 a.m. service. After the music and just before the sermon our younger kids (ages 4- 8) have the opportunity to go to our Children’s Church program to have a lesson that is appropriate for their age. This year we are using the ShareFaith kid’s material that will walk your child through the Bible in one year. Of course, kids of all ages are welcome to stay and listen to the sermon but Children’s Church offers our younger kids a time to learn God’s Word in a way that may appeal to them more.

Wednesday Nights 4 Kids at 6:30 p.m.

A fun program for kids K-5th grade that leads our kids in a special time of discovering Jesus Christ. Each year they study a group of topics that also will lay a solid Biblical foundation for our children. Our Wednesday night programming follows the school year from the middle of August to the end of May. The topics and dates for this school year are listed below. If you would like to volunteer to lead or assist in one of these short-term studies for our kids please let us know. Each specific topic usually runs from 4 to 8 weeks.
